Picture Saga
I want to send some pictures we took while on vacation in Pennsylvania in the thank you card we're sending. Since it has been two weeks since the trip, I was happy we were able to go through them this weekend and pick the best ones. I planned to drop them off for developing yesterday when I went grocery shopping but forgot them. "No problem," I thought, "I'll just go to the same store in the morning since I have to stop nearby to get gas anyway." They were out of 4x6 glossy prints this morning. "Okay. What next? There's a Walgreen's by work. If I drop them before getting to the office, I can pick them up on my way home." Nope. Store doesn't open until 8....

i don't quite understand why convenience type stores dont open until 8am. the cvs here does that too. and they want you to transfer all your prescriptions to them when jewel is open 24hrs. not terribly convenient.

i would think they'd be open 6a-12p...that seems reasonable.

good luck with getting your prints. it's starting to sound like an odyssey ;)

By "drop them off" do you mean film or digital files?

Digital files. We have a thumb drive we use to bring in the pics we want printed.

Have you looked at places that allow you to upload from home and order prints? Walmart, Wolf/Ritz, Target, Walgreens, and CVS all provide this service. Heather and I do it all the time with Wolf. It works great.

I actually looked at that option with Wolf once but [info]twench wasn't too fond of having to download a program onto our computer to be able to do that. Maybe that will be reconsidered...

The thing about this morning that was so irritating is that both places I went to were quick options that were not out of the way.

[info]twench picked up the thumb drive on his way to the office this morning and plans to stop by Costco on the way home.

I'm not aware of any program install in order to upload photos to Wolf. They have a Java-based interface in the web browser. At least, that's what we use. Works in IE and Firefox.
